Seth Godin's Linchpin -- Are You Indispensable?
Of all of Seth Godin's books, this could be the most resonant on many levels, which is strange to say considering that he has already revolutionized the way we look at business and the world, as the well as the relationship between the two. Here, Godin speaks of art as being the potential of the thing we do every day -- work -- and how conformity to corporate standards actually serves to our detriment as individuals not only striving to ascend the ranks, but as people in need of a higher purpose.
As someone who is impassioned by his work and has spent a majority of his career defying the status quo (as well as exhorting the ills of corporate culture), I can't begin to tell you how refreshing it is for a man of Godin's wisdom and influence to share this perspective. Especially at a time when there is such great parity in the world.
Let's all read and discuss!
